National Awards

FCCLA recognizes its members and advisers for their outstanding dedication and achievement through a variety of recognition programs. Go to the National web page at www.fcclainc.org, and click on the “Awards” tab for more information.

Chapter Recognition
Students are recognized for their achievements through national program awards, completion of Power of One, and for their efforts in membership recruitment. The 2008-09 Membership Kit mailed to chapters in August contains the National Chapter Spirit Award Application and other recognition opportunities.

Advisor Recognition Program

The National Advisor Recognition Program recognizes advisors with four awards:

            a. Master Advisor - Recognizes outstanding advisors who operate co-curricular chapters with a balanced program of work. Must have advised an affiliated chapter for a minimum of three years.

            b. Advisor Mentor - Recognizes advisors who have achieved the level of Master Advisor and have worked with beginning advisors for two years since receiving Master Advisor recognition.

            Applications for these awards may be requested from the State FHA-HERO Office or from the Region Advisor who works with the FHA-HERO region in your geographic area. The completed application must be submitted by February 1 to:

            c. Spirit of Advising Award - Recognizes chapter advisors who are diligent, support established guidelines and policies, provide multiple opportunities for members to gain skills, and serve as a positive role model and mentor. The FHA-HERO Recognition Committee may        nominate one advisor for this award annually. Due to State FHA-HERO office by December 1, 2008. Due to the National Headquarters by February 1, 2009.

            d. Years of Service Award – Recognizes chapter advisors for their service. This award is given to chapter advisors in five-year increments of 5 - 50 years of service. Years of Service Awards are based on the information provided by the chapter advisor on the chapter affiliation form received by National Headquarters.
