- Organize a beach clean up

- Develop an assembly for elementary school kids about saving water
- Design a "lights out" day with activities to teach about light bulb energy and conservation
- Hold a water party and teach water conservation using water efficient games
- Implement or improve a local recycling program in your school or community
- Plan a recycling competition to collect old toner cartridges, cell phones, soda cans, or other recyclable products
- Plan a media-free week to save electricity by turning off televisions, video games and computers
- Hold a bike-a-thon day and encourage students to ride instead of drive to school
- Implement a "carpool for fuel" program to promote fuel conservation Coordinate a variety of groups to hold a community-wide "clean-up" day
- Write letters to the editors of the local newspaper with information on conservation
- Plan and host a dinner and invite key community leaders, present ideas for conservation in your community
- Write a series of articles on conservation to be published in your community newsletter
- Initiate a "plant a tree" day in your neighborhood to help make shade and conserve home energy
- Hold a science fair with projects about energy conservation, take the projects to a local elementary school for display and discussions

- Design an "energy fair" with carnival games based on energy conservation topics
