Amy Shinoki, serving as the Region 5 President, is a senior at Mills High School. She has been involved with FHA-HERO since her freshmen year in high school and is now serving her third term as a Region Officer. She has participated in the CREs by competing in Salad Preparation and Interior Design. She has received both her Chapter and Region Degree and is now working for her State Degree. When she is not busy with school and FHA-HERO activities, she enjoys camping, kayaking, biking, reading, and meeting knew people.
Kaila Ontiveros, is serving as Region 5 Vice
President/Reporter. Her goals this year are to keep up my
grades to stay in FHA HERO, take care of all my responsibilities given,
and increase new membership in my region. I have not yet competed in any
CRE Events, but I would like to. I enjoy being a part of FHA HERO and I
wish I joined this great organization sooner. I love that through the
organization I have met so many different kinds of people. Besides going
to work and school, in my free time I like being with friends, writing
poetry, listening to music, running with my dad, and watching movies
with my family.
Jacqueline Pan is a senior at Mills High School and is serving as Region 5 Secretary. She has competed in the CRE Menu Planning and Table Display, Nutrition Education, and Prepared Speech Events. Jacqueline has been in FHA-HERO since freshman year and is ecstatic to be part of this year's Region 5 officer team. In her free time she likes to play the piano, watch movies, bake cupcakes, and read. She encourages everyone to make use of FHA-HERO's many opportunities.
Kelsey Young, Region 5 Treasurer also is serving her chapter as Historian. Along with chronicling her chapter's activities, she has also taken part in two Green Weeks and both of the school wide International Foods Days. At the 2010 State Meeting, she won second place in the Chapter Activities Manual. When not at school with her advisor or the manual, she is reading or listening to music at home.
Wyatt Koon, Region 5 Historian, is a junior at Livermore High School for the 2010-2011 school year. He has been in FHA-HERO for only one year, yet he worked hard and was elected to a region office. He has competed in the CRE Salad Preparation Event and placed second place at Region. He has also served as the chapter Community Service Officer and has been elected as Chapter President for the 2010-2011 school year. He enjoys cooking, swimming, and meeting new friends and hopes that everyone will embrace the ultimate opportunity of FHA-HERO!
