Meet the Region 2 Officers…
Hailey Stevenson, Region 2 President, is a
senior at Big Valley High School. She has been an active member in
FHA-HERO since her freshman year. She served as the Region 2 Reporter
last year and is looking forward to being a Region officer again.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, basketball, and
softball. She believes FHA-HERO has helped her succeed in school
and other extracurricular activities. Hailey's favorite thing
about FHA-HERO is being able to meet new people.
Mack Johnston,
is a senior at Pleasant Valley High School and is serving as
Region 2 Vice-President. This is his third year in FHA-HERO.
He enjoys swimming, playing hockey, and being outdoors. The biggest
thing FHA-HERO has done is give him leadership training and help him to
go out and meet new people in his community. He first got involved with
FHA-HERO when he signed up for his Culinary 2 ROP class. He wanted the
opportunity to compete within his state, then that turned into becoming
Chapter Vice President as well, and hopefully the in- coming Chapter
President.
Kendall Nicholson is the
Region 2 Secretary this year. She is a junior at Pleasant Valley
High School. She has been involved with FHA-HERO for one year.
In that year, she competed in the Child Development Event and placed
first at region level, and 12th at the state finals. Through FHA-HERO
she has made many new friends and has learned to try new things. When
she’s not involved with FHA-HERO, she likes to spend time with her
friends and play volleyball and softball. She also enjoys being
outdoors. She is the person that everyone goes to when they have a
problem because she always tries her best to help them fix things.
Kendall strives to keep everyone around her happy and content.
Region 2 Treasurer, Tyler Iacuessa,
was born in Phoenix, Arizona on June 9th of 1994. He is the
youngest of five siblings, two sisters and three brothers. He and his
sister, Rebecca, have lived with their Dad ever since he can remember.
Some of Tyler’s activities include working at The Pita Pit,
swimming on the swim team at Pleasant Valley Senior High School,
participating in culinary competitions, catering with his ROP Culinary 2
class, and doing many other culinary-related extracurricular activities.
When he is not busy with work or school, he spends his free time
enjoying movies and hanging out with friends.
Dalton Whitworth is Region 2
Historian. The three main people in his family life are his
parents and his older brother. He was born in Chico, California at Enloe
Hospital on June 16th, 1994. His life goals for the next 5
years are to go to Johnson & Wales University at either the Denver or
the North Miami campus and to maintain a job no matter where in the
world he is. Culinary Arts is his main passion in life. Other than
culinary, the things he does most are relaxing with friends, enjoying
movies, listening to good music, singing, dancing or going to dances,
and most of all, swimming and relaxing in Jacuzzi’s. He likes all types
of music but the ones he can’t live without are hip hop, rock, and
country. He is an extreme Facebook fan and finds himself spending hours
on it when he has nothing else to do. He works at Pelican’s Roost
in Chico, and loves working there. His greatest attributes are his sense
of self confidence and self esteem, because in this world, people need
to believe in themselves and believe that as a person, they are as good
as they think they are.
Yajaira Rodriguez, Region 2 Reporter
attends Big Valley Jr./Sr. High School in Bieber. In
her spare time, she likes visiting new places and meeting new people.
In her chapter, she has served as secretary and this upcoming year, she
will be serving the chapter as vice president. She has been an
active member in FHA-HERO since her freshman year and she’s loved
competing in CRE program. She placed first in her freshman year in
Salad Preparation and also in Menu Planning and Table Display in her
sophomore and junior years. She looks forward to this, her senior
year.
